Skinpen Microneedling Knoxville TN

SkinPen Microneedling in Knoxville, TN Rebuild Your Skin From the Inside Out

Your Skin From the Inside Out

SkinPen microneedling is one of the treatments I recommend most often for patients who want real improvement in skin texture, acne scarring, and long-term collagen support. It remains the only FDA-cleared microneedling device on the market, and that clearance matters to me. I don't offer tools I can't stand behind clinically.

During treatment, SkinPen creates thousands of controlled micro-channels in your skin per second, prompting your body's own wound-healing response to kick in. What follows is new collagen, new elastin, and skin that looks visibly smoother and more even—all without heat, without chemicals, and with very little downtime.

I perform every SkinPen treatment at KnoxGlow myself. I'm Tiffany Sharp, a Board Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with clinical training in skin physiology. Rather than following a fixed protocol, I adjust needle depth and treatment intensity specifically to your skin concerns and goals.

I see SkinPen patients from Farragut, West Knoxville, Hardin Valley and Turkey Creek.

What SkinPen Treats & Ensuring Your Safety

Because it is clinically proven effective across Fitzpatrick Skin Types I through VI, SkinPen is an incredibly inclusive option, suitable for nearly every skin tone.

Patients turn to me for SkinPen to help improve:

  • Acne scars and post-breakout marks
  • Fine lines, wrinkles, and general neck aging
  • Uneven skin texture and enlarged pores
  • Hyperpigmentation and sun damage
  • Stretch marks and skin laxity
  • Dull, tired-looking skin

SkinPen can be used on the face, neck, chest, hands, and body. During your consultation, we will talk through which treatment areas matter most to you.

Is SkinPen Safe for You?

Safety is built into the design. I use a single-use, sterile needle cartridge for every patient, and a custom BioSheath prevents any cross-contamination. However, SkinPen isn't the right fit for everyone. It should be avoided if you have active skin cancer, open wounds, an allergy to stainless steel, a bleeding disorder, are pregnant/nursing, or are actively using isotretinoin (Accutane). I will review all of this during your consultation to make sure SkinPen is the right fit for you.

The First FDA-Cleared Microneedling Device

SkinPen, manufactured by Crown Aesthetics, was the first microneedling device to earn FDA clearance, and that clearance is specific. It covers safe, effective reduction of facial acne scars and neck wrinkles in patients 22 and older. The clearance also extends to the full protocol, not just the handpiece, including the Skinfuse Lift HG hydrogel applied during treatment and the custom BioSheath designed to prevent cross-contamination between sessions.

A series of just three sessions, spaced roughly 30 days apart, is typically enough for most patients to see improvement that holds for six months or longer. In SkinPen's own clinical trials, 90 percent of participants said they'd recommend the treatment to friends and family.

This FDA clearance sets SkinPen apart from many at-home devices and unregulated dermarollers sometimes marketed online. When you choose a provider offering an FDA-cleared procedure, you're choosing a treatment backed by clinical data rather than trend-driven marketing.

How the 3-Step Healing Process Works

SkinPen stimulates your body's natural three-stage repair process:

  • Inflammation: The micro-injuries signal your immune system to clear debris, boost blood flow, and prepare for new tissue.
  • Proliferation: The micro-channels begin rebuilding with new cells rich in collagen, supported by a fresh network of blood vessels.
  • Remodeling: New dermal tissue forms. This is where your skin visibly firms, smooths, and evens out over the weeks that follow.

This is the same growth factor-driven repair process that supports treatments like PRP/PRF, which is one reason the two pair so well together for patients who want to maximize collagen production. Growth factors such as PDGF, released naturally during this repair process, play a central role in rebuilding stronger, healthier skin over time.

What to Expect During and After Treatment

Sessions generally run 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand so you stay comfortable, and most patients describe the sensation as light pressure or mild prickling rather than pain. Some redness and sensitivity for 24 to 48 hours afterward is expected, and most people are back to their normal routine the same day or by the next morning.

Don't expect overnight results. Improvement builds gradually, with early changes visible within a few weeks and the most noticeable transformation showing up one to three months after your final session, as collagen continues remodeling beneath the surface.

Why Patients Choose SkinPen for Skin Rejuvenation

Many patients come to me after trying traditional facials, at-home tools, or over-the-counter products with limited results. Unlike traditional facials, which work on the surface, or standard facial treatments that fade within days, SkinPen works underneath the skin, triggering the deeper collagen response that topical treatments alone cannot reach. Overall, this is one of the biggest reasons patients see more noticeable, longer-lasting improvement with a clinical-grade procedure like SkinPen. In a lot of ways, it bridges the gap between spa-level treatments and dermatology-grade results, without surgery.

Not Sure Whether SkinPen or Morpheus8 Is Right for You?

Both are excellent treatments, but they work differently and are suited to different goals. Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy for added skin contouring and tightening, while SkinPen focuses purely on texture, tone, and scarring.
